Pricing guide, AI Assistant
Every Claude app plan in plain numbers, how seat types and usage limits move the bill, and why Enterprise adds usage at API rates.
The short answer
Claude Pro costs USD 20 a month or USD 17 billed annually, Max costs USD 100 or USD 200 a month, and Team costs USD 20 per standard seat annually (USD 25 monthly) or USD 100 per premium seat. Enterprise is USD 20 per seat plus usage at API rates. A 25-person team pays USD 6,000 a year on Team standard seats.

Claude usually enters a company the same way. A few people pay for Pro or Max on a card, then someone asks for a Team workspace with SSO. Each step looks cheap per person, but premium seats, usage limits and Enterprise's metered billing change the math quickly.
This guide prices every Claude app plan from the official pricing page dated 12 October 2026. Claude API token pricing is a separate product and is not covered here.
Prices below were recorded on 12 October 2026. The headline figure is the lowest price you can get for that plan. Check the official page before you buy, because vendors change prices without notice.

How billing works
Pro is USD 20 a month or USD 200 a year up front, while Max is billed monthly only at USD 100 (5x) or USD 200 (20x). Usage on Free, Pro, Max and Team is measured in rolling five-hour sessions with weekly limits, which Anthropic can change at its discretion. Team is sold for 2 to 150 people, and standard and premium seats can be mixed. Enterprise switches to USD 20 per seat billed annually plus usage at API rates, so cost scales with the model and the task. API credits included with Max and Team are separate from plan usage, upgrades are prorated for the rest of the billing cycle, and prices exclude tax.
The tier trap
Team includes SSO but not SCIM, audit logs, role-based access, domain capture or HIPAA readiness. Needing any of them moves you to Enterprise, where the USD 20 seat is only the start and every prompt is billed at API rates.
Read this first. Prices come from the official pricing page and the Max plan help article, read on 12 October 2026. The unbundling timeline for Enterprise comes from a third-party vendor blog, so confirm it. The benchmark is SpendHound's average Anthropic spend across all products including the API, and not app seats alone. The split of Max API credits between the 5x and 20x tiers is not broken out on the page. The ChatGPT Business price in the alternatives table is a third-party figure, because that vendor's page was not readable. No free trial is published.

Twenty-five seats shows the cost of moving five power users to premium seats and of paying monthly.

Our view
Team is good value for most companies at USD 20 per standard seat, since it adds SSO, admin controls and Claude Code to every seat. Premium seats and Max are worth it only for people who genuinely hit limits. Enterprise is a governance decision, and its usage billing needs a budget owner from day one.
You may be overpaying if
Several people pay for Pro or Max on personal cards alongside a Team workspace, premium seats sit with occasional users, or you pay Team monthly when the headcount is stable.
Team standard seats drop from USD 25 to USD 20 and premium seats from USD 125 to USD 100 on annual billing.
Start everyone on standard seats and upgrade only people who repeatedly hit limits.
Move expensed Pro and Max accounts into one Team workspace with central billing.
Enterprise adds admin spend limits. Set them per team before rollout.
SpendHound reports nonprofits can get discounts of up to 75 percent through Claude for Nonprofits.
ChatGPT Business and Microsoft 365 Copilot give you credible numbers before renewal.

AI assistants are bought by individuals first. Within a quarter a company can have a Team workspace, thirty personal Pro plans and a few Max subscriptions, none of them tied to a single renewal date.
Bottom line. Put most people on Team standard seats, upgrade only proven power users, and move to Enterprise when security needs SCIM or audit logs, with a usage budget in place. Review seats 90 days before renewal and fold personal subscriptions into one contract.
Claude Pro costs USD 20 a month or USD 17 a month billed annually. Team costs USD 20 per standard seat annually or USD 25 monthly, and USD 100 or USD 125 per premium seat. Max costs USD 100 or USD 200 a month, and Enterprise is USD 20 per seat plus usage.
Yes. Claude Free costs nothing and includes chat on web, desktop and mobile, web search, file creation, memory and up to 5 Projects. It uses Sonnet and Haiku only and does not include Claude Code, Opus or Research.
Claude Enterprise lists at USD 20 per seat per month billed annually, plus usage billed at API rates, so the total depends on models and workload. It adds SCIM, audit logs, role-based access, a Compliance API and a HIPAA-ready offering.
Claude Max costs USD 100 a month for 5x Pro usage or USD 200 a month for 20x, billed monthly. It includes priority access at busy times and USD 100 to USD 200 a month in API credits, which are separate from plan usage.
Yes. Pro drops from USD 20 to USD 17 a month, Team standard seats from USD 25 to USD 20 and premium seats from USD 125 to USD 100. For 25 standard seats that saves USD 1,500 a year. Max has no annual option.
ChatGPT Business matches Claude Team at USD 20 per standard seat on annual billing. Microsoft 365 Copilot Business lists at USD 21 per user, with a USD 18 first-year promotion, and suits teams already paying for Microsoft 365.
