Trello is often the first project tool a team picks up. The free plan and simple boards make it easy to start. The cost shows up when the team passes 10 collaborators or wants timelines and dashboards.
Below is every plan from the Trello pricing page, and what a 25-person team pays on each.
Prices below were recorded on 21 September 2026. The headline figure is the lowest price you can get for that plan. Check the official page before you buy, because vendors change prices without notice.

How billing works
Trello bills per user. The Free plan stops at 10 collaborators per Workspace, so the eleventh person forces a paid plan. Standard is USD 5 annually or USD 6 monthly, and Premium is USD 10 annually or USD 12.50 monthly. Enterprise is sold annually only, at USD 17.50 per user per month, and includes Atlassian Guard Standard for security controls.
The tier trap
Timeline, Calendar, Table and Dashboard views are Premium only. A team that wants to see its work beyond a board doubles its price per user, from USD 5 to USD 10.
Read this first. The Enterprise price of USD 17.50 is the figure on Trello's page, but Trello has historically shown it as an estimate that varies with seat count, so confirm it with sales. We could not confirm the Premium trial length. Folding Trello into an Atlassian contract is a negotiating idea, not a published bundle.

Which Trello plan should you pick?
Free
Pick it if 10 or fewer people share a Workspace and 10 boards are enough.
Standard
Pick it for unlimited boards, custom fields and AI features at the lowest price.
Premium
Pick it if you plan with Timeline, Calendar, Table or Dashboard views.
Enterprise
Pick it if IT needs Atlassian Guard, organization-wide permissions and unlimited Workspaces.
Our view
Trello is inexpensive and easy to adopt, and Standard is good value for teams that live in Kanban boards. Premium is worth it only if people will use the extra views every week. Otherwise a full project tool may give you more for similar money.
You may be overpaying if
You pay for Premium but nobody opens Timeline or Dashboard views, or you pay monthly for a team that has used Trello for years.
How to pay less for Trello
Pay annually
Annual billing saves about 17 percent on Standard and 20 percent on Premium.
Audit members
Remove inactive members and leavers before renewal. Every user is a paid seat.
Keep small Workspaces on Free
Teams of 10 or fewer that do not need unlimited boards can stay on Free.
Check the Atlassian bundle
If you already pay for Jira or Atlassian Guard, ask whether one Atlassian contract lowers the total.
Compare ClickUp and Asana
ClickUp Unlimited is USD 7 per user and Asana Starter USD 10.99, both billed annually.
Downgrade unused Premium
Move teams that only use boards back to Standard to halve the price per user.

Keeping Trello spend under control
Project tools spread team by team. One group starts on Free, another buys Standard on a card, a third upgrades to Premium for a single timeline. A year later finance has several workspaces and no single view.
- Track who holds a seat. Keep one list of paid seats, their owners and the date each was last used. Our guide to vendor management shows how to set that up.
- Put renewals on a calendar. Log every renewal date and notice period in a contract renewal tracker so nobody finds out after the term rolls over.
- Route new buys through one request. Cards and expense claims hide duplicate subscriptions. A short purchase requisition step catches them before the first payment.
- Know your whole software bill. Pull every vendor into one view with a spend analysis template, then look at the tools with the fastest growth.
Bottom line. Standard suits most board-driven teams, and Premium is worth it only when its views are used weekly. Consolidate Workspaces and audit members before every renewal.

Is there a free version of Trello?
Yes. Trello Free includes unlimited cards, up to 10 boards, unlimited Power-Ups per board, an Inbox and mobile apps, for up to 10 collaborators per Workspace. An eleventh collaborator, or a need for more boards, means a paid plan.
How much is Trello Enterprise?
Trello Enterprise is listed at USD 17.50 per user per month, billed annually. It includes Atlassian Guard Standard, 24/7 Enterprise Admin support, unlimited Workspaces, organization-wide permissions and multi-board guests. For 25 users that would be USD 5,250 a year.
Can you get a discount on Trello?
The main published discount is annual billing, which saves about 17 percent on Standard and 20 percent on Premium. Beyond that, savings come from removing inactive members, keeping small teams on Free and moving teams that skip the views from Premium to Standard.
Is Trello cheaper billed annually?
Yes. Standard drops from USD 6 to USD 5 per user per month and Premium from USD 12.50 to USD 10. For a 25-person Premium team that saves USD 750 a year. Enterprise is sold on annual billing only.
What is the cheapest alternative to Trello?
ClickUp Unlimited costs USD 7 per user per month billed yearly and includes unlimited storage and integrations. Asana's Personal plan is free for up to two users, and Asana Starter costs USD 10.99 per user per month billed annually.
