ClickUp plans and prices
ClickUp sells itself as one app to replace many, and the per-user list price is low. The bill grows in other ways. The whole workspace must upgrade together, AI is priced on top, and annual plans roll over for another year unless someone cancels 30 days ahead.
This guide breaks down Free Forever, Unlimited, Business, Enterprise and the AI add-ons using prices from ClickUp's official pricing page, then shows what a 50-person team really pays.

How billing works
ClickUp bills per user, and upgrading means upgrading every member of the workspace. Each workspace is billed separately, and paid users added mid-cycle are charged a prorated amount. Anyone from inside your organization counts as a paid user, while paid plans include a limited number of external guest seats and unlimited read-only guests. Brain AI (USD 9 per user yearly, USD 14 monthly) and Everything AI (USD 28 yearly, USD 33 monthly) are add-ons on top of the plan, and extra AI Super Credits cost USD 10 per 10,000.
The tier trap
Business adds only Google SSO. SAML SSO, SCIM provisioning and audit logs are Enterprise only, so a security policy that requires SAML jumps you from USD 12 per user to a custom quote.
Read this first. The visible US pricing page on 12 October 2026 shows Unlimited (USD 7 yearly, USD 10 monthly), Business (USD 12, USD 19) and Enterprise. The same page source also carries a second lineup (Core USD 8, regular USD 12, Business USD 17, regular USD 25, Max USD 100), and a help center article titled "New plans and pricing options" lists Core, Business Plus and Max. Confirm which lineup US buyers see before relying on this page. Brain AI (USD 9 yearly, USD 14 monthly) and Everything AI (USD 28, USD 33) are per-user add-ons, and whether every member must be licensed is not stated. The annual saving is computed from list prices (30% to 37%), while ClickUp says up to 33%.

Our view
ClickUp is among the cheapest full-featured work platforms per seat, and Unlimited is strong value for small teams. Business is worth it once dashboards and automations matter. Budget AI separately, because the add-on can cost more than the plan.

Keeping ClickUp spend under control
ClickUp spreads through workspaces created by individual teams. Each one carries its own upgrade, its own AI add-ons and its own renewal date.
- Track who holds a seat. Keep one list of paid seats, their owners and the date each was last used. Our guide to vendor management shows how to set that up.
- Put renewals on a calendar. Log every renewal date and notice period in a contract renewal tracker so nobody finds out after the term rolls over.
- Route new buys through one request. Cards and expense claims hide duplicate subscriptions. A short purchase requisition step catches them before the first payment.
- Know your whole software bill. Pull every vendor into one view with a spend analysis template, then look at the tools with the fastest growth.
Bottom line. Start on Unlimited, move to Business when dashboards and automations earn it, and treat AI as a separate budget line licensed by usage. Then review seats 90 days before renewal and cancel or trim at least 30 days ahead.
