Pricing guide, Work Management Software
Every Asana plan in plain numbers, how seat packs round your bill up, and why SAML SSO forces a custom quote.
The short answer
Asana costs USD 10.99 to USD 24.99 per user per month on annual billing (USD 13.49 to USD 30.49 billed monthly), with a free Personal plan for 2 users and quote-based Enterprise. A 50-person team pays USD 6,594 a year on Starter or USD 14,994 on Advanced at list price, before any discount.

Asana usually lands in one team, then spreads as other departments ask to see the same projects. List prices are public, but the bill depends on seat packs, on which plan your security team will accept, and on a renewal that rolls forward at whatever seat count you reached.
This guide breaks down Personal, Starter, Advanced and Enterprise with prices checked against Asana's official pricing page, then shows where the real cost sits.
Prices below were recorded on 12 October 2026. The headline figure is the lowest price you can get for that plan. Check the official page before you buy, because vendors change prices without notice.

How billing works
Asana bills every member on a paid plan, and seats are sold in packs: one at a time from 2 to 5 users, then in fives up to 30, tens up to 100, 25s up to 500 and 50s beyond that. Starter is USD 10.99 and Advanced USD 24.99 per user per month billed annually, or USD 13.49 and USD 30.49 billed monthly. Guests are free on paid plans. Asana's Subscriber Terms let it bill usage above purchased seats pro rata for the rest of the term, and the pricing FAQ says Asana does not offer refunds.
The tier trap
SAML SSO and SCIM provisioning are Enterprise only. If your security policy requires SAML login, you jump from USD 24.99 per user to a custom quote, with no list-priced plan in between.
Read this first. Trial length is not stated on the pricing page. The help center confirms no credit card is needed, and third-party sources say 30 days. Asana's page lists Personal as free for 2 users, and a third-party source says the cap dropped from 10 users for accounts created after 12 November 2025, which Asana has not confirmed. Subscriber Terms quoted are the version effective 16 September 2026. No dated, sourced price change was found.
Move the slider to see what each plan costs at your size. The figures use the list prices on this page and leave out tax, add-ons and any discount you negotiate.
Fifty users shows the cost of needing portfolios and goals and of paying monthly.
| Scenario | Cost per year | Against the headline |
|---|---|---|
| Starter, billed annually (50 users) | USD6,594 | Headline price |

| Advanced paid monthly instead of annually (50 users) | USD18,294 | +USD 3,300 |

Features we could not place by plan: Timeline and Gantt views, Reporting dashboards and unlimited automations, Portfolios and goals, Approvals, proofing and time tracking, SAML SSO and SCIM. Check the official page for which plan includes each one.
Pick it if two people need shared lists, boards and calendars and nothing more.

Pick it if you run portfolios, goals, approvals or time tracking across teams.
Pick it if IT requires SAML SSO, SCIM, view-only licenses or resource management at scale.
Our view
Asana is good value for teams that live in projects every day, and Starter covers most of them. Advanced earns its premium only when leaders really use portfolios, goals and workload views. Enterprise is a security decision and not a feature upgrade.
You may be overpaying if
You pay for a seat pack well above your active users, put the whole company on Advanced so a few managers can use portfolios, or let the renewal roll over without the 30-day seat review.
Seats come in packs, so time hires and removals around pack boundaries before renewal.
Guests are free on paid plans, so do not license clients and contractors as members.
Annual billing saves up to 18%, about USD 3,300 a year for 50 Advanced users.
Send seat reductions in writing at least 30 days before the term ends.
Asana offers eligible nonprofits a discount on Starter or Advanced annual plans.
monday.com, ClickUp and Smartsheet give you a competing number before renewal.
What other buyers report
Vendr reports a median Asana contract of USD 41,979 a year across 469 purchases, ranging from USD 7,497 to USD 142,800, with buyers saving about 15% on average (February 2026). Source
Renewal email you can copy
Fill in the brackets and send it about 90 days before the renewal date. It works best next to your renewal tracker.

Project tools spread department by department. Each team buys its own seat pack, and nobody sees the combined number or the renewal dates.
Bottom line. Start most teams on Starter, move to Advanced only where portfolios and goals are used, and treat Enterprise as the price of SAML SSO. Then review active users 90 days before renewal and give seat notice 30 days ahead.
Asana Starter costs USD 10.99 per user per month billed annually or USD 13.49 billed monthly. Advanced costs USD 24.99 annually or USD 30.49 monthly. Seats are sold in packs above 5 users, so you may pay for a few more seats than you use.
Yes. Asana Personal is free for up to 2 users, with unlimited tasks and projects, list, board and calendar views, and unlimited storage with a 100MB limit per file. Timelines, dashboards and automations need Starter.
Asana does not publish Enterprise pricing, and it is quoted by sales. Enterprise adds SAML SSO, SCIM, view-only licenses and capacity planning. Vendr reports a median Asana contract of USD 41,979 a year across 469 purchases, with a range of USD 7,497 to USD 142,800.
Yes. Annual billing saves up to 18%, eligible nonprofits get a discount on Starter or Advanced annual plans, and larger buyers negotiate. Vendr reports buyers save about 15% on average across 469 Asana purchases.
Yes. Starter drops from USD 13.49 to USD 10.99 per user per month and Advanced from USD 30.49 to USD 24.99, a saving of about 18%. For a 50-person Advanced team that is USD 3,300 a year.
Trello Standard is the cheapest mainstream option at USD 5 per user per month billed annually. ClickUp Unlimited costs USD 7 per user per month billed annually and monday.com Basic USD 9 per seat with a 3 seat minimum.
