RingCentral plans and prices

RingCentral is one of the most common business phone systems, and its list prices look simple: a few plans priced per user. The real bill depends on things the headline hides, such as monthly versus annual billing, AI and contact center add-ons, extra numbers, and the regulatory fees that appear on every invoice.

This guide walks through every RingEX plan using RingCentral's plans page and 2026 third-party price checks, then shows where the cost really sits.

Prices below were recorded on 12 October 2026. The headline figure is the lowest price you can get for that plan. Check the official page before you buy, because vendors change prices without notice.

How billing works

RingEX is priced per user, and RingCentral says paying annually saves up to 33%. Third-party price checks put monthly billing USD 10 per user higher on every plan. Annual billing commits you to a seat count for the year. Toll-free minutes are pooled across the account, and extra minutes and SMS are bought separately. On top of the plan price, invoices carry a Compliance and Administrative Cost Recovery Fee and E911 charges, plus taxes.

The tier trap

CRM integrations, multi-site management, custom roles and automatic call recording all start on Advanced, so a team that needs Salesforce call logging or compliance recording cannot stay on Core.

Read this first. RingCentral's plans page loads seat prices dynamically, so the Core, Advanced and Ultra prices (USD 20, USD 25, USD 35 annual and USD 30, USD 35, USD 45 monthly) come from 2026 third-party sources (CloudTalk, September 2026, and tech.co). Features, trial terms, "save up to 33%" and add-on prices were read from RingCentral's own plans page and its plan data file. The official data file suggests prices change by user-count band (the highest band is "Contact us for pricing"), so confirm the per-user price for your team size. The current US plans page shows Core, Advanced and two AI Customer Engagement Bundles but no Ultra card (Ultra is still referenced in a footnote), so confirm Ultra is still sold. The unit for AI Receptionist "starts at USD 39" (per user or per account) is unclear. The Teams Phone add-on price was not checked.

Which RingCentral plan should you pick?

Core

Pick it if you need business numbers, unlimited US and Canada calling, video and messaging for a single site.

Advanced

Pick it if you need CRM integrations, multi-site admin, automatic recording or call monitoring.

Ultra

Pick it if you must keep recordings and files without storage limits and want deeper analytics.

AI Customer Engagement Bundle

Pick it if a sales or service team needs AI Receptionist, SMS and call queue tools on every line.

Our view

RingEX is a solid choice when you want phone, video and messaging from one vendor with strong uptime commitments. Core covers most small offices, and Advanced is worth the extra USD 5 per user only when CRM integrations, multi-site admin or automatic recording are real requirements.

You may be overpaying if

You pay monthly for a stable team, you license lines for people who rarely take external calls, or you run RingCentral video alongside Microsoft Teams or Zoom meetings that already cover the same need.

How to pay less for RingCentral

  1. Commit annually

RingCentral says annual billing saves up to 33% against monthly.

  2. Right-size lines

Remove lines for leavers and staff who never take external calls before the renewal counts seats.

  3. Avoid add-on creep

Price AI Receptionist, Conversational Intelligence and Boosters against a bundle before adding them one by one.

  4. Negotiate on volume

Vendr reports buyers save 26% on average, and larger deployments and multi-year terms get lower per-user rates.

  5. Bring competing quotes

Zoom Phone and Nextiva publish lower entry prices for annual plans.

  6. Audit numbers and fees

Release unused toll-free and vanity numbers and check recurring fees on each invoice.

What other buyers report

Vendr reports a median RingCentral contract of USD 6,229 a year across 92 purchases, with deals ranging from USD 1,510 to USD 14,681 and buyers saving 26% on average. Source

Keeping RingCentral spend under control

Phone lines outlive the people who used them, and fees and numbers bill on every invoice. Annual commitments lock a seat count for the full year.

  • Track who holds a seat. Keep one list of paid seats, their owners and the date each was last used. Our guide to vendor management shows how to set that up.
  • Put renewals on a calendar. Log every renewal date and notice period in a contract renewal tracker so nobody finds out after the term rolls over.
  • Route new buys through one request. Cards and expense claims hide duplicate subscriptions. A short purchase requisition step catches them before the first payment.
  • Know your whole software bill. Pull every vendor into one view with a spend analysis template, then look at the tools with the fastest growth.

Bottom line. Start on Core, move to Advanced only when CRM integrations, multi-site admin or recording rules demand it, and commit annually once your line count is stable. Then review lines, numbers and add-ons 90 days before renewal.
