Hootsuite plans and prices

Hootsuite prices every plan per user, so the bill grows with every person who touches the social calendar. The plan names are simple, but the features that teams usually need, such as unlimited social accounts, inbox automation and content approvals, are spread across three tiers that range from USD 99 to USD 399 per user.

This guide walks through each plan with prices from Hootsuite's official plans page, then shows what a small team really pays.

Prices below were recorded on 12 October 2026. The headline figure is the lowest price you can get for that plan. Check the official page before you buy, because vendors change prices without notice.

How billing works

Hootsuite sells Standard, Professional and Advanced per user, starting at one seat, and its published prices assume annual billing and exclude tax. Monthly billing is available at a higher per-user rate that Hootsuite does not publish. Plans renew automatically, and under Hootsuite's terms a cancelled paid plan runs to the end of the term with no refund. Enterprise annual plans can be invoiced and paid by card, check, wire or ACH.

The tier trap

Standard caps you at 10 social accounts, and content approvals only start on Advanced. A team that needs a manager to sign off posts pays USD 399 per user, four times the Standard price, and SSO needs Enterprise.

Read this first. Hootsuite's plans page shows dollar figures only in its FAQ (Standard USD 99, Professional USD 199, Advanced "up to USD 399"), labelled per user per month billed annually, and plan cards render prices client-side. Monthly-billing rates are not published (the FAQ confirms monthly billing exists at a higher rate), so monthly fields are shown as not published and should be confirmed in checkout. Price history and the Enterprise 60-day notice term come from competitor blogs (Blotato, NapoleonCat). A nonprofit discount exists per the FAQ, and Blotato reports about 60% off, but this is unverified, so no figure is used. No buyer benchmark was found, since the Vendr and SpendHound pages returned 404.

Approvals need Advanced

Content review and approval workflows are not on Standard or Professional.

Monthly billing premium

Monthly plans cost more per user than the annual prices Hootsuite publishes.

No refund on cancellation

Hootsuite's terms say you pay for the rest of the plan term after you cancel.

Which Hootsuite plan should you pick?

Standard

Pick it if one to a few people schedule posts for up to 10 social accounts.

Professional

Pick it if you manage more than 10 accounts or need inbox automation and custom reports.

Advanced

Pick it if posts need manager approval or messages must be routed to owners.

Enterprise

Pick it if you need SSO, compliance controls or advanced social listening.

Our view

Hootsuite is worth it for teams that want scheduling, inbox and reporting in one tool. Standard is fair value for small teams, but per-user pricing and approvals locked to Advanced make it expensive as a team grows.

You may be overpaying if

You license people who only review posts, you pay for Professional while managing fewer than 10 accounts, or you moved to Advanced for approvals that one person could handle in a shared calendar.

How to pay less for Hootsuite

  1. License only publishers

Give seats to the people who schedule and reply, and share reports with everyone else.

  2. Match the tier to accounts

Stay on Standard while you manage 10 social accounts or fewer.

  3. Commit annually

Hootsuite's published prices are annual rates, and monthly billing costs more per user.

  4. Ask about nonprofit pricing

Hootsuite offers a discounted rate for nonprofits on some plans.

  5. Get competing quotes

Sprout Social, Agorapulse and Buffer give you real numbers to bring to the renewal.

  6. Cancel before the term ends

Cancelled plans are not refunded, so set a reminder before the renewal date.

Price changes we know of

  • January 2025: Advanced was listed at USD 249 per user per month on annual billing, with Standard at USD 99 (reported by Blotato).
  • 2026: a new Professional tier was listed at USD 199 and Advanced rose to USD 399 per user per month, while Standard stayed at USD 99 (reported by Blotato).

Renewal email you can copy

Fill in the brackets and send it about 90 days before the renewal date. It works best next to your renewal tracker.

Keeping Hootsuite spend under control

Social tools collect seats for interns, agencies and former staff. Because a cancelled plan is not refunded, a missed renewal date costs a full term.

  • Track who holds a seat. Keep one list of paid seats, their owners and the date each was last used. Our guide to vendor management shows how to set that up.
  • Put renewals on a calendar. Log every renewal date and notice period in a contract renewal tracker so nobody finds out after the term rolls over.
  • Route new buys through one request. Cards and expense claims hide duplicate subscriptions. A short purchase requisition step catches them before the first payment.
  • Know your whole software bill. Pull every vendor into one view with a spend analysis template, then look at the tools with the fastest growth.

Bottom line. Start on Standard, move up only when account limits or approvals force it, and license only the people who publish. Then treat the renewal as a review with a date and an owner.

Hootsuite pricing questions

How much does Hootsuite cost per user?

Hootsuite Standard costs USD 99 per user per month, Professional USD 199 and Advanced USD 399, all billed annually and before tax. Enterprise is priced by sales. Monthly billing is available at a higher per-user rate that Hootsuite does not publish.

Is there a free version of Hootsuite?

No. Hootsuite ended its free plan in 2023. It offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required, limited to 10 to 20 posts a day per organization and without bulk scheduling.

How much is Hootsuite Enterprise?

Hootsuite does not publish Enterprise pricing, and you request a demo for a quote. Enterprise adds SSO, custom compliance, advanced listening with 13 months of history, Salesforce integration and employee advocacy on top of everything in Advanced.

Can you get a discount on Hootsuite?

Yes. Annual billing gives a lower per-user rate than monthly, and Hootsuite offers discounted pricing for nonprofits on some plans. Larger teams can negotiate, especially on Enterprise, and cutting unused seats is the fastest saving.

Does Hootsuite refund cancelled plans?

No. Under Hootsuite's terms, plans renew automatically, and if you cancel a paid plan you keep paying for the rest of the term with no refund. Cancel or downgrade before the renewal date to avoid another term.

What is the cheapest alternative to Hootsuite?

Buffer starts at USD 5 per channel per month on Essentials and has a free plan for 3 channels. Agorapulse Standard and Sprout Social Essentials both start at USD 79 per user per month billed annually, below Hootsuite's USD 99.

How we put this page together

We start from the vendor pricing page and note the date. Where a figure comes from a third party instead, we say so on the page. Procurement VMS is a ratings and comparison site, not a software vendor, and nobody paid for a place in this guide. Spot a number that has changed? Tell us on the contact page and we will check it.
