Pricing guide, Project and Issue Tracking
Every Jira plan in plain numbers, how annual user tiers double the bill at the boundary, and why SSO needs a separate subscription.
The short answer
Since 13 October 2026, Jira Standard costs USD 9.70 and Premium USD 19.60 per user per month on monthly billing for up to 100 users. Annual plans are priced by user tier: a 50-person team pays USD 4,850 a year on Standard or USD 9,800 on Premium. Jira is free for up to 10 users.

Jira is where engineering and product teams track issues, sprints and releases, and it often becomes the system of record for how software gets built. The per-user price looks simple, but annual plans are sold in user tiers, SSO is a separate subscription, and Atlassian has raised list prices two Octobers in a row.
This guide prices Free, Standard, Premium and Enterprise from Atlassian's official pricing page and future pricing tables. Documentation lives in Confluence, a separate subscription with its own guide.
Prices below were recorded on 12 October 2026. The headline figure is the lowest price you can get for that plan. Check the official page before you buy, because vendors change prices without notice.

How billing works
Monthly subscriptions are billed on the exact number of Jira users, at USD 9.70 on Standard and USD 19.60 on Premium per user for the first 100 users, with lower progressive rates above that. Annual subscriptions are billed for the user tier that covers your count: 26 to 50 users costs USD 4,850 on Standard and USD 9,800 on Premium, and 51 users moves you to the 100-user tier. Enterprise is annual only and available from 801 users. SSO and SCIM need Atlassian Guard Standard on every plan except Enterprise, and renewals are billed at Atlassian's then-current rates.
The tier trap
Annual Jira plans are sold in user tiers, so the 51st user moves a Standard team from USD 4,850 to the 100-user tier at USD 9,700 a year, double the bill for one extra person. Check where your count sits before you commit annually.
Read this first. Atlassian raised Jira list prices on 13 October 2026 PT. This page uses the new prices from Atlassian's official future pricing tables, while the live pricing page still showed the old prices (USD 9.05 and USD 18.30 monthly, USD 4,550 and USD 9,150 annual at 50 users) on 12 October 2026, so confirm the pricing page has switched. Annual per-user figures (USD 8.08 Standard, USD 16.33 Premium) are derived from the 26 to 50 user annual tier and change by tier. The Vendr benchmark covers all Atlassian purchases, not Jira alone.
Move the slider to see what each plan costs at your size. The figures use the list prices on this page and leave out tax, add-ons and any discount you negotiate.
Fifty users shows what an SSO requirement and the Premium tier add to the Standard base.

Features we could not place by plan: Cross-team planning and dependencies. Check the official page for which plan includes each one.
Pick it if 10 or fewer people track work and 2GB of storage is enough.
Pick it if one or a few teams need roles, permissions and more automation.
Pick it if several teams plan across projects and need 24/7 critical support and an SLA.
Pick it if you have 801 or more users, need multiple sites or want Guard included.
Our view
Jira Standard is fair value for software teams and remains cheaper per user than most work-management tools at scale. Premium is worth it once cross-team planning and support SLAs matter. Budget for Guard if you need SSO, and expect Atlassian list prices to keep rising.
You may be overpaying if
You sit just above an annual user tier, keep inactive users licensed, or renewed automatically after 13 October 2026 without asking for a quote first.
Remove inactive users before renewal so your count lands in the lowest tier that fits.
Atlassian honors quotes generated before a price change until they expire.
Annual billing saves about 17%, USD 970 a year for 50 Standard users.
Jira is free for up to 10 users, so small side projects can stay on a separate Free site.
Guard bills per user, so apply SSO policies to the users who need them.
Linear, ClickUp and GitLab give you a credible number before renewal.
What other buyers report
Vendr reports a median Atlassian contract, across Jira, Confluence and other products, of USD 91,357 a year based on 838 purchases, with buyers saving about 11% on average (February 2026). Source

Issue trackers collect inactive users, and annual tiers punish a count that sits one person over a boundary. The price change each October lands at renewal.
Bottom line. Start on Standard, move to Premium when several teams plan together, and budget Guard separately if SSO is required. Then check your user tier 90 days before renewal and lock a quote before Atlassian's next price change.
