Free subscription management software: stop renewing what nobody uses
Most companies pay for software no one opened this month. A free subscription tracker will not cancel anything, but it shows you what to cancel, and when the window closes.
The short answer. You can manage subscriptions for free with a renewal register, calendar alerts and exports from your card, accounting and identity systems. Free tools rarely discover shadow subscriptions or measure usage automatically. The money is in the renewal date: know it 90 days ahead and you can cut seats, downgrade or negotiate.

Software contracts are quietly time boxed. Miss the notice window and an annual plan renews, often with a price rise. A tracker that knows the date does more than any dashboard, because it gives someone time to ask the right question: do we still need this?

Build the register from three sources
- Card and bank statements: every recurring charge from software vendors.
- Accounting bills: annual invoices paid by transfer.
- Identity provider and admin consoles: apps users have signed into, and seats assigned.
Merge the three and you will find subscriptions nobody remembers. Add owner, cost, billing period, renewal date, notice period, seats, usage and the contract file. This is your free subscription management system.

Questions to ask at each renewal
Are the seats used?
Compare assigned seats with logins in the last 60 days. Remove idle ones, and the seat true-up calculator shows the risk of under licensing.
Is annual or monthly cheaper?
