Semrush publishes its prices, but the plan price is only part of the bill. Every plan includes a single user seat, the AI search tracking marketing teams now ask for is split between the plan tiers and a separate toolkit, and features such as historical data and the API sit on higher tiers.
This guide lays out each plan from Semrush's official pricing page, then shows what a real team pays once users and add-ons are counted.
Prices below were recorded on 12 October 2026. The headline figure is the lowest price you can get for that plan. Check the official page before you buy, because vendors change prices without notice.

How billing works
Every Semrush plan comes with one user seat, the account owner. Extra users cost USD 45 a month on Starter, USD 80 on Pro+ and USD 100 on Advanced, and AI Visibility Toolkit access is a separate USD 99 per user for one domain. The 7-day free trial converts to a paid plan automatically unless you cancel. Semrush's 7-day money-back guarantee covers only a first annual subscription or first add-on bought by card on Semrush.com, month-to-month plans are not refundable, and cancellations take effect at the end of the committed term.
The tier trap
Starter has the same 5 websites and 500 keywords as the SEO plan, and the extra USD 60 a month buys AI search tracking. Historical data and content optimization start only on Pro+, and the API only on Advanced, so a team that needs year-over-year reporting jumps straight to USD 299 a month.
Read this first. The official prices page shows the SEO plan at USD 139 a month, while third-party sites still quote the older SEO Toolkit Pro at USD 139.95, so confirm. The extra user price for the SEO plan (USD 45) is inferred from the knowledge base rate for SEO Toolkit Pro, and the Starter, Pro+ and Advanced rates (USD 45, USD 80, USD 100) are stated in the knowledge base. The scenarios assume extra users are billed at the monthly add-on rate on annual plans. Price history items and the classic Guru and Business prices come from third-party trackers (SaaS Price Pulse, Style Factory), not Semrush. Websites and daily keyword limits for the SEO plan were read from the official page, and its AI prompt allowance is not listed.

Our view
Semrush is worth it for teams that want keyword, audit, rank tracking and AI search visibility in one suite. Pro+ is the sensible default for in-house teams. The real cost depends on seats, so a three-person team pays far more than the headline plan price.
You may be overpaying if
You pay for Advanced but never use the API, you keep extra users who log in once a month, or you bought AI Visibility seats for people who only read the reports.
Annual billing cuts up to 17% off the monthly price on every plan.
Each extra user costs USD 45 to USD 100 a month, so share dashboards and PDF reports instead of logins.
If you do not need AI prompt tracking, the SEO plan has the same site and keyword limits as Starter for USD 60 less a month.
Test with the 7-day trial, then buy annually, since a first annual purchase can be refunded within 7 days.

SEO tools gain seats whenever a new writer or agency needs a login. Each one adds a monthly fee, and the logins are rarely removed.
Bottom line. Pro+ is the right plan for most in-house teams, and annual billing is the main published discount. Review users, AI Visibility seats and add-ons before every renewal and cut what nobody opened.
