Vanta pricing in 2026: what each tier includes and what buyers report paying
What each Vanta tier includes, what buyers report paying, and the contract terms that matter more than the first-year discount.
The short answer
Vanta publishes no prices. Its five tiers, Core, Plus, Growth, Scale and Enterprise, are all quoted by sales. CostBench reports a USD 20,000 median annual contract across 320 purchases, with a USD 10,000 to USD 80,000 range and about 30% average negotiated discount. A 100-employee program typically lands near that median.
Cheapest paid entryCore, the startup tier, but Vanta publishes no price for it.
What most GRC teams needGrowth, because the API, custom tests, SSO and vendor risk management start there.
Biggest hidden costExtra frameworks at about USD 5,000 each, plus 20% to 40% on mid-contract upgrades (CostBench).
Best way to saveHold a live Drata or Secureframe quote and negotiate the escalation cap, not just year one.
Vanta is the tool most companies reach for the first time an enterprise prospect asks for a SOC 2 report. It connects to your cloud, your HR system and your laptops, collects the evidence an auditor will ask for, and keeps collecting it between audits.
The pricing is a different story. Vanta's pricing page lists five tiers and not one number. This guide covers what each tier includes from the official plan sheet, what buyers report paying, and the contract terms that matter more than the first-year discount.
Prices below were recorded on 17 October 2026. The headline figure is the lowest price you can get for that plan. Check the official page before you buy, because vendors change prices without notice.

How billing works
Every Vanta tier is quoted by sales, and the pricing page shows no numbers. What moves the quote is visible in the plan sheet: how many frameworks you want in scope, how many security questionnaires you expect to answer each year (25 on Plus, 144 on Growth, 288 on Scale), how many workspaces you need (one by default, three on Scale), and whether you add Vendor Risk Management or Customer Trust Management, which sit outside the core plans. Above Scale there is an Enterprise tier that Vanta describes as a package designed with its team and not a plan with a feature list. CostBench reports contracts run a one-year minimum, are paid annually, and do not allow mid-term downgrades.
The tier trap
Role-based access control, SSO and the Vanta API all start on Growth, which is the jump from the startup tiers to the GRC tiers. SCIM provisioning and multiple workspaces only arrive on Scale, so a second legal entity or brand can push you a whole tier higher than the compliance work itself would justify.
Read this first. Low confidence, quote-only vendor. Vanta publishes no prices, so every dollar figure here is third-party and attributed. The plan names and feature lists were read from the official variant vanta.com/pricing-v1 on 17 October 2026, because the main pricing page could not be fetched. The official plan table renders its checkmarks as alt text, so the feature rows use only features Vanta states in prose or with an explicit limit. Enterprise is a fifth tier above Scale and is covered in the billing text and FAQs and not in the four plan cards. CostBench's own page is internally inconsistent (a USD 10,000 to USD 80,000 headline range against a USD 10,000 to USD 30,000 figure elsewhere, and conflicting as-of dates), so only the figures stated consistently are used.

What a 100-employee program costs at the median, with extra frameworks and with an upgrade
Vanta publishes no rates, so this table uses CostBench's reported median for a 100-employee program. Treat it as a planning range, not a quote.

Where the bill grows
A Vanta bill is the tier plus frameworks, add-ons and renewal terms. These are the places it moves.
Extra frameworks are priced separately
CostBench reports each additional framework adds about USD 5,000 a year. The plan sheet includes one framework, so SOC 2 plus ISO 27001 plus HIPAA is three line items.
Mid-contract upgrades carry a premium
CostBench reports buyers pay 20% to 40% above the normal tier price when they upgrade part-way through a term, because there is no credit for the plan already paid for.
The audit itself is not in the price
Core includes one pen test or internal audit. The external auditor who issues your SOC 2 or ISO 27001 report is a separate engagement that Vanta does not bill for.
Renewal escalation
CostBench reports annual price escalation of 5% to 10%, with a default 10% increase cap in the contract that buyers have negotiated down to 3% to 7%.
No refunds and no downgrades
CostBench reports contracts auto-renew, carry a one-year minimum and do not allow mid-term downgrades, with no refund on unused value if your scope shrinks.
Questionnaire volume is a metered limit
Questionnaire Automation is capped at 25, 144 or 288 a year by tier. A busy enterprise sales quarter can exhaust the allowance and force a tier change.

Which Vanta plan should you pick?
Core
Pick it if you are chasing one certification for the first time and want the included pen test or internal audit.
Plus
Pick it if prospects already send you security questionnaires and 25 automated responses a year covers it.
Growth
Pick it if you have a named GRC owner and need the API, custom tests, vendor and risk management, and SSO.
Scale
Pick it if you run more than one entity or brand, or need SCIM and custom role-based access controls.
Our view
Vanta earns its price for a company that has to produce a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 report on a deadline and has nobody to collect evidence by hand. Once you are past one framework and one entity, the tier structure gets expensive fast, and the quote stops tracking the work and starts tracking your headcount. It is good software bought in a market where you cannot see what anyone else paid.
You may be overpaying if
You bought frameworks you have not started certifying, or you sit on Growth or Scale for features like the API and SCIM that nobody has configured. If your questionnaire volume is a fraction of your tier allowance, you pay for a metered limit you never reach.
How to pay less for Vanta
Put a competing quote on the table
Vendr reports a USD 24,934 median annual contract for Drata and CostBench reports from about USD 7,500 a year for Secureframe. A live quote from either is the strongest lever.
Buy only the frameworks you will certify this year
CostBench reports extra frameworks at about USD 5,000 each. Scope the quote to the report you need a signed opinion on in the next twelve months.
Negotiate the escalation cap before you sign
CostBench reports a default 10% annual increase cap that buyers have negotiated to 3% to 7%. That clause is worth more over three years than the first-year discount.
Avoid mid-contract upgrades
CostBench reports a 20% to 40% premium on upgrades part-way through a term. If you can see the second framework coming, price it into the initial quote.
Start on the startup tiers if you qualify
Core and Plus exist for early-stage companies. There is no reason to be quoted on Growth before you have a GRC owner to use it.
Strike the auto-renewal at signature
CostBench reports cancellation requires negotiating removal of the auto-renewal clause. Write a plain non-renewal notice window in while you still have negotiating strength.
What other buyers report
CostBench reports a median Vanta contract of USD 20,000 a year across 320 purchases, citing Vendr data, within an overall range of USD 10,000 to USD 80,000 a year and an average negotiated discount of about 30% (page last verified July 2026). Source

Q1 2025: Vanta restructured its pricing, introducing Plus and Enterprise plans alongside separate offerings for startups and for GRC professionals (reported by PricingSaaS).
Renewal email you can copy
Fill in the brackets and send it about 90 days before the renewal date. It works best next to your renewal tracker.
Subject: Vanta renewal on [renewal date]
Hi [account manager],
Our Vanta [plan] subscription renews on [renewal date]. Over the last 90 days, [active employees] of the [paid employees] we pay for used it.
We would like to renew with [target employees] on a [term] term. Before we sign, please send:
1. The current list price and the price you are offering us, line by line.
2. The cap on any price increase at the next renewal.
3. The notice period if we want to cut employees or move to another plan.
We are comparing this against [alternative] and plan to decide by [decision date]. If you can offer [target discount] percent off list, or a lower price for a longer term, we are ready to talk this week.
Thank you,

Keeping Vanta spend under control
Compliance scope grows with every new customer questionnaire. The framework count and the escalation cap decide the renewal.
Ask for the security documents up front. Request the security report, the data processing terms and the insurance certificate before you sign. See supplier onboarding.
Score the vendor on risk, not only on price. A cheap tool with weak controls costs more after an incident. Use a vendor risk assessment template.
Watch the renewal date. Security tools are often bought on multi-year terms. Put the notice date in a renewal tracker.
Check the licence metric. Seats, devices and endpoints are counted differently by each vendor. Confirm which one you are paying for.
Bottom line. Vanta is worth buying if you have a certification deadline and no one to collect evidence by hand, and it is worth leaving on the startup tiers until a named GRC owner needs the API and vendor risk management. Keep one record of which frameworks you certify, what you pay, when the notice window opens and what the escalation cap says, and review it 90 days out.
Vanta pricing questions
How much does Vanta cost per year?
Vanta publishes no prices. CostBench reports a median contract of USD 20,000 a year across 320 purchases, within a USD 10,000 to USD 80,000 range, and notes buyers average about 30% off list. Your quote depends on frameworks in scope, questionnaire volume, workspaces and add-on modules.
Is there a free version of Vanta?
No. Vanta has no free plan and its pricing page does not mention a free trial. Every tier, including the Core and Plus startup plans, routes to a demo request or to contact sales. Expect an annual contract paid upfront with a one-year minimum.
How much is Vanta Enterprise?
Vanta does not publish an Enterprise price. The pricing page describes it as a package designed with Vanta's team and not a tier with a feature list, adding GRC experts and support engineers above Scale. CostBench reports enterprise programs commonly start around USD 30,000 a year.
Can you get a discount on Vanta?
Yes. CostBench reports an average negotiated discount of about 30%, and recommends holding competing quotes from Drata or Secureframe. Asking about startup pricing under 50 employees and locking an escalation cap below the default 10% are the other two levers that move real money.
Is Vanta cheaper paid annually?
No monthly option exists to compare. CostBench reports Vanta contracts are annual, paid upfront, with a one-year minimum and no mid-term downgrades. The pricing lever is the scope you sign and the renewal increase cap you negotiate into the order form.
What is the cheapest alternative to Vanta?
Secureframe, on reported figures. CostBench reports it starting from about USD 7,500 a year for up to 100 employees on one framework, against a USD 20,000 median for Vanta. Sprinto is reported at a USD 15,000 median. All three are quote-only, so get bids in parallel.
We start from the vendor pricing page and note the date. Where a figure comes from a third party instead, we say so on the page. Procurement VMS is a ratings and comparison site, not a software vendor, and nobody paid for a place in this guide. Spot a number that has changed? Tell us on the contact page and we will check it.
