Ramp pricing in 2026: Free vs Plus and the Enterprise quote

What the Ramp Free plan covers, what third-party sources report for Plus, and the costs around the price list.

The short answer

Plus is reported at USD 12 per user per month billed annually or USD 15 monthly, so 50 paid seats run USD 7,200 a year annually against USD 9,000 monthly. Enterprise is quote only. Card eligibility reportedly needs about USD 75,000 in a US bank account.

Ramp plans and prices

Ramp is one of the few finance tools where the answer to "what does it cost" starts at zero. Cards, receipt capture, expense approvals and bill pay sit on a free plan with unlimited users, because the business is funded by interchange rather than a per-seat software fee.

That makes it easy to roll out and easy to under-budget. The costs that surprise people sit around the price list: a Plus platform fee that is not published, a bank balance expectation behind card eligibility, and an Enterprise tier that owns anything multi-entity.

Prices below were recorded on 17 October 2026. The headline figure is the lowest price you can get for that plan. Check the official page before you buy, because vendors change prices without notice.

How billing works

The card product and the software product are two separate commercial conversations on Ramp. Cards are underwritten on your bank balance and cashflow rather than personal credit, and third-party trackers report that Ramp expects at least USD 75,000 in a US bank account to qualify. The software side is where an invoice comes from: Plus is billed per user per month, cheaper on annual commitment, and third-party sources report a platform fee scaled to team size on top of the per-seat rate, with no published number. On Enterprise, internal users who hold a role are billed while external roles such as guest, auditor and outside accounting firm are not.

The tier trap

Multi-entity support, locally denominated cards and custom ERP integrations are Enterprise only. The moment you add a second legal entity or a non-US subsidiary, the published USD 12 per user price stops applying and you are in a sales quote.

Read this first. ramp.com/pricing could not be fetched when this guide was prepared, so Ramp prices come from CostBench (last verified 9 July 2026) and Capterra. Capterra shows Plus at USD 15 and does not break out the annual rate. Two items need confirming against Ramp's official page: the exact Plus platform fee, which no source quantifies, and whether a timed free trial exists (Capterra says a trial is available but gives no length). The feature list is built from CostBench's plan contents and not from Ramp's own comparison table. The calculator shows Plus seat prices only and excludes the platform fee. The CostBench benchmark is directional and comes from community cost mentions.

What 50 paid seats cost on Plus annually, on Plus monthly and on Free only

Fifty paid seats shows the value of annual billing, and what staying on Free saves.

Where the bill grows

A Ramp bill is paid seats plus a platform fee, and the card terms sit outside it. These are the places it moves.

The undisclosed platform fee

Third-party trackers report that Plus carries a platform fee based on team size on top of the per-user rate, and that Ramp does not publish the amount. Ask for it in writing before you set a budget.

The USD 75,000 balance expectation

Card eligibility is reported to require roughly USD 75,000 held in a US bank account. If your operating balance runs lower, the free software may not be available to you.

Entity sprawl pushes you to Enterprise

A second legal entity or a foreign subsidiary moves you off the published price list, because multi-entity and locally denominated cards sit on Enterprise.

Implementation and training

Ramp is sold as self-serve, but larger rollouts with ERP mapping and policy design can need paid help or internal time.

Which Ramp plan should you pick?

Free

Pick it if you want cards, receipts, approvals and bill pay on one platform and can live with basic workflow rules.

Plus

Pick it if you need advanced approval and policy controls plus deeper accounting automation, and you can commit annually.

Enterprise

Pick it if you run more than one legal entity, need locally denominated cards, or need a custom NetSuite, Sage Intacct or Dynamics integration.

Our view

Ramp is unusually good value because the tier most companies need costs nothing: unlimited users, cards, receipts and approvals on the Free plan, funded by interchange. Plus at USD 12 per user per month on annual billing earns its keep only when advanced policy controls and accounting automation replace real manual work. Enterprise is where the price becomes a negotiation, and the published numbers stop helping.

You may be overpaying if

You moved everyone onto Plus seats when only the finance and AP team touches the advanced controls, or you pay monthly instead of annually and give up about 20% for flexibility you never use.

How to pay less for Ramp

  1. Stay on Free until a control blocks you

Free covers unlimited users, cards, receipt capture and approvals. Name the specific Plus feature you need before you pay for any seat.

  2. Buy Plus for the finance team, not the company

Advanced controls and accounting automation are used by approvers and accountants. Cardholders rarely need a paid seat.

  3. Commit annually

Third-party trackers report USD 12 per user per month on annual billing against USD 15 monthly, about 20% off, or USD 1,800 a year on 50 seats.

  4. Get the platform fee in writing

Plus reportedly carries an unpublished platform fee tied to team size. Ask for the exact figure and whether it is fixed for the term before signing.

  5. Audit seats before every renewal

Deactivate leavers and strip Plus from anyone who has not used the advanced controls.

  6. Bring a competing quote

Brex and BILL give you a real number to compare at renewal.

What other buyers report

CostBench reports a median Ramp spend of about USD 1,625 a year, derived from 48 community cost mentions on Reddit and Hacker News, and describes the figure as directional and not contract grade. Source

Keeping Ramp spend under control

Cards spread through the company faster than software seats are reviewed. The Plus seat count and platform fee are the parts that need an owner.

  • Get the quote in writing, line by line. Finance and HR systems are priced by employee, module and service. Ask for each module as its own line so you can remove one later.
  • Read the renewal clause first. Look for the uplift cap, the notice period and the rules on reducing headcount. Our contract management guide lists what to check.
  • Compare against alternatives with the same scope. A fair comparison needs the same modules and employee count on both sides. Use a vendor comparison matrix.
  • Plan for implementation cost. Setup, data migration and training often cost as much as a year of licences. Add them to the total cost of ownership.

Bottom line. Stay on Free until a named control blocks you, buy Plus seats for approvers and not cardholders, and commit annually. Then audit seats and get the platform fee in writing ahead of every renewal date, with one owner and a diary entry 90 days out.
