Tipalti pricing in 2026: platform fees, unlimited users and transaction fees
What Tipalti publishes, what it does not, and why the USD 99 floor is not a budget until you hold a full rate card.
The short answer
Tipalti starts at a published USD 99 a month for Accounts Payable and USD 249 for Mass Payments, both with unlimited users and no per-seat fee. At those floors that is USD 1,188 and USD 2,988 a year, or USD 4,176 for both. Transaction fees per invoice and per payment, the base platform fee and FX spread are unpublished and quoted.

Best way to saveGet a full written rate card, consolidate payment rails and use the unlimited user model against per-seat competitors.
Tipalti publishes floors and not prices. Accounts Payable starts at USD 99 a month and Mass Payments at USD 249, and everything else is quoted. What Tipalti does not charge for is seats, which is the structural difference against per-seat tools such as BILL.
This guide sets out what the published floors cover, what drives the real invoice, and which rate card items to get in writing before you sign.
Prices below were recorded on 17 October 2026. The headline figure is the lowest price you can get for that plan. Check the official page before you buy, because vendors change prices without notice.

How billing works
Tipalti publishes floors, not prices. Accounts Payable starts at USD 99 a month and Mass Payments at USD 249, both described as starting points with custom quotes required, and the add-on Procurement, Expenses and Treasury modules carry no published figure. Three things decide the invoice. First, the base platform fee: Tipalti's FAQ confirms one exists but does not state the amount. Second, transaction fees, charged per invoice and per payment, varying by payment method and destination, with no rates published. Third, scope: the number of legal entities, regions, payment methods and integrations drives both the quote and any Professional Services charge above a standard implementation. There are no per-user or per-approver fees, and both published packages include unlimited users.
The tier trap
Procurement, Expenses and Treasury are add-on modules with no published price. The moment your requirement grows past paying invoices you leave the published floors behind and the whole thing becomes a quote.
Read this first. An official Tipalti pricing page was read on 17 October 2026 at tipalti.com/approve/pricing, because the canonical tipalti.com/pricing page could not be fetched. Confidence is medium because Tipalti publishes only starting prices: the base platform fee is confirmed to exist but not quantified, and no transaction rates or FX spread are published anywhere. No buyer-paid benchmark was available. Tipalti charges no per-seat fee, so the unit on this page is invoices per month and not users. The scenario figures are the published floors multiplied by 12 and exclude transaction fees.

Where the bill grows
A Tipalti bill is a platform fee plus fees on every invoice and payment. These are the places it moves.
The unquantified platform fee
Tipalti's FAQ confirms a base platform fee exists but publishes no amount. Until you have it in writing, the USD 99 floor is not a budget.
Per-invoice and per-payment fees
Charged on top of the platform fee and varying by payment method and destination, with no published rates. Ask for a full rate card by rail and by country.
Professional Services above a standard implementation
Standard implementations are included, but complexity driven by entities, regions, payment methods and integrations can trigger an extra Professional Services charge with no published rate.
Add-on modules priced only by quote
Procurement, Expenses and Treasury have no published price. Scope them into the first negotiation and not at renewal, when you have less negotiating strength.
FX rates are not quantified
Tipalti describes its FX rates as competitive without publishing a spread. On cross-border volume the spread can outweigh the platform fee entirely.
No free tier and no trial
There is no way to validate fit without a commercial agreement, so the evaluation cost sits in your own team's time.

Which Tipalti plan should you pick?
Accounts Payable
Pick it if finance automates invoice capture through to payment and wants unlimited approvers.
Mass Payments
Pick it if you pay many payees, such as marketplace sellers, affiliates or partners.
Procurement, Expenses and Treasury modules
Pick them if you extend past AP into purchasing, employee expenses or cash management, and accept a quote.
Our view
Tipalti is built for businesses that pay many suppliers across borders, and the unlimited user model gets better value as the finance team grows. The cost is in volume and payment mix, which are unpublished, so no estimate built on the USD 99 floor alone will be right.
You may be overpaying if
You pay a platform fee for rails you barely use, you scoped modules mid-term at list price, or you never asked for the FX spread on cross-border payments.
How to pay less for Tipalti
Get the full rate card before you sign
Platform fee, per-invoice fee, per-payment fee by rail and by destination, and FX spread. Without all five, you cannot compare Tipalti to anything.
Use the unlimited user model
Tipalti charges no per-user or per-approver fee. Price that against per-seat competitors like BILL at USD 49 to USD 89 per user per month.
Scope every module up front
Procurement, Expenses and Treasury are quote only. Bundle them into the first negotiation and not mid-term at list.
Pin down what a standard implementation covers
Entities, regions, payment methods and integrations can push you into paid Professional Services. Get the boundary in writing.
Consolidate payment rails
Fees vary by payment method and destination. Reducing the number of rails you use is the biggest lever on a volume-based bill.
Price a named alternative
BILL publishes USD 49 to USD 89 per user per month and a full payment fee schedule, which makes it a useful comparison in front of a Tipalti rep.
Renewal email you can copy
Fill in the brackets and send it about 90 days before the renewal date. It works best next to your renewal tracker.
Subject: Tipalti renewal on [renewal date]
Hi [account manager],
Our Tipalti [plan] subscription renews on [renewal date]. Over the last 90 days, [active invoices per month] of the [paid invoices per month] we pay for used it.
We would like to renew with [target invoices per month] on a [term] term. Before we sign, please send:
1. The current list price and the price you are offering us, line by line.
2. The cap on any price increase at the next renewal.
3. The notice period if we want to cut invoices per month or move to another plan.
We are comparing this against [alternative] and plan to decide by [decision date]. If you can offer [target discount] percent off list, or a lower price for a longer term, we are ready to talk this week.
Thank you,

Keeping Tipalti spend under control
Payables volume grows with the business. The fees that matter scale with it and are visible only on the rate card.
Get the quote in writing, line by line. Finance and HR systems are priced by employee, module and service. Ask for each module as its own line so you can remove one later.
Read the renewal clause first. Look for the uplift cap, the notice period and the rules on reducing headcount. Our contract management guide lists what to check.
Compare against alternatives with the same scope. A fair comparison needs the same modules and employee count on both sides. Use a vendor comparison matrix.
Plan for implementation cost. Setup, data migration and training often cost as much as a year of licences. Add them to the total cost of ownership.
Bottom line. Treat USD 99 as a floor, ask for the full rate card, and compare per-invoice and FX costs against per-seat tools at your real volume. Put modules in the first deal and not at renewal.
Tipalti pricing questions
How much does Tipalti cost?
Tipalti's published starting prices are USD 99 a month for Accounts Payable and USD 249 a month for Mass Payments, both with unlimited users. Those are floors: a base platform fee, per-invoice fees and per-payment fees apply on top and are not published, so every deal is quoted.
Does Tipalti charge per user?
No, and this is its main commercial difference. Both published packages include unlimited users with no per-user or per-approver fee, so cost scales with invoice and payment volume and not headcount. That can beat per-seat tools like BILL as the finance team grows.
Is there a free version of Tipalti?
No. Tipalti's pricing page states there is no free tier, and no free trial is offered either. The cheapest published entry point is the Accounts Payable package from USD 99 a month, which still requires a custom quote to finalize.
How much is Tipalti for enterprise?
Tipalti does not publish mid-market or enterprise pricing, and both are custom. The quote is driven by invoice and payment volume, legal entities, regions, payment methods and integrations, plus any Professional Services needed above a standard implementation.
Can you get a discount on Tipalti?
No annual discount is published. Because pricing is quoted, the levers are volume commitments, consolidating payment rails, scoping add-on modules into the first deal and bringing a priced BILL comparison to the table.
What is the cheapest alternative to Tipalti?
Ramp's Free plan is USD 0 and includes bill pay if your volume is domestic. For published, modelable AP pricing, BILL starts at USD 49 per user per month on Essentials with ACH at USD 0.59 and mailed checks at USD 1.99, which suits small AP teams better than volume-based pricing.
