Pricing guide, Website Builder
Every Squarespace plan in plain numbers, how transaction fees decide which plan is cheapest, and what first-year extras do at renewal.
The short answer
Squarespace costs USD 19 to USD 99 a month per site billed annually, or USD 25 to USD 139 billed monthly, with no free plan and a 14-day free trial. One business site on Core pays USD 348 a year at list price, before card processing from 2.9% plus USD 0.30 per sale and a 5% fee on digital products.

Squarespace looks like a simple monthly subscription, and for a brochure site it mostly is. Once a business starts selling products, memberships or digital downloads, the plan choice decides how much of every sale Squarespace keeps, and card processing is billed on top.
This guide lays out the four plans using prices from Squarespace's official US pricing page, then shows where the cost sits for a business site.
Prices below were recorded on 12 October 2026. The headline figure is the lowest price you can get for that plan. Check the official page before you buy, because vendors change prices without notice.

How billing works
Squarespace prices each plan per website, so a business running a main site and a separate campaign or store pays for each one. Annual plans are paid up front and include a free custom domain for the first year, while monthly billing costs USD 6 to USD 40 more per month. On top of the plan, Squarespace charges transaction fees by plan (2% on Basic product sales, and 7%, 5% and 1% on digital content on Basic, Core and Plus), card processing from 2.9% plus USD 0.30 (2.7% on Plus, 2.5% on Advanced), and an automated sales tax fee of 0.15%, 0.10% or 0.05% per transaction (capped at USD 0.99) on Core, Plus and Advanced.
The tier trap
Basic looks USD 10 a month cheaper than Core, but it charges 2% on every product sale. Above roughly USD 6,000 a year in product sales, that fee costs more than the upgrade, so most stores belong on Core from the start.
Read this first. Prices were read on squarespace.com/pricing as served to a US visitor. A direct fetch from our location showed INR, so the US page was read through a US-rendered copy. The page shows two unlabeled prices per plan, and we take the lower as the annual rate. Squarespace says annual billing saves up to 36%, but the listed prices save 24% to 29%. The July 2026 price rise comes from a September 2026 third-party article that still quotes older prices as current, so confirm the before figures. Add-on prices for Email Campaigns, Scheduling, Member Areas and extra Google Workspace users are not on the pricing page. Refund and renewal terms were not confirmed on an official page.
Move the slider to see what each plan costs at your size. The figures use the list prices on this page and leave out tax, add-ons and any discount you negotiate.
Squarespace prices per site, so this table follows one Core site through the effect of digital sales fees and monthly billing.
| Scenario | Cost per year | Against the headline |
|---|---|---|
| Core, billed annually (1 site) | USD348 | Headline price |
| Core plus USD 20,000 a year in digital product sales at the 5% fee (1 site) | USD1,348 | +USD 1,000 |
| Same site on Core paid monthly instead of annually (1 site) | USD1,468 | +USD 120 |

Features we could not place by plan: Advanced analytics and CSS/JavaScript, Google Workspace free for first year. Check the official page for which plan includes each one.
Pick it if you run an informational site, have at most two editors and sell little or nothing online.
Pick it if you sell physical products or services, want analytics and custom code, or need more than two contributors.
Pick it if you sell digital content or run limited product releases and want a lower card rate.
Pick it if memberships or digital sales are a major revenue line and the 0% digital fee and 2.5% card rate pay for the plan.
Our view
Squarespace is good value for small businesses that want a polished site without a developer, and Core is the right default once you sell anything. The higher plans earn their price only when digital sales or card volume are large enough that lower fees cover the gap.
You may be overpaying if
You pay for Advanced or Plus but sell few digital products, you keep separate Squarespace sites that could be pages on one site, or you stayed on Basic while paying 2% on a growing volume of product sales.
Annual billing saves USD 6 to USD 40 a month per site against monthly prices, about 24% to 29%.
Model your yearly product and digital sales against each plan's transaction fee before picking the cheapest sticker price.
Fold campaign microsites into pages on your main site so you pay for one plan instead of several.
Check the domain and Google Workspace renewals before they bill at standard rates, and move them if you already own email or domains elsewhere.
Wix, Webflow and Shopify give you a real comparison number before the annual renewal.

Website subscriptions renew on the day the site was built, which is rarely a day anyone remembers. Domains, email accounts and extra sites each bill on their own cycle.
Bottom line. Start on Core if you sell anything, pay annually once the site is stable and check your transaction fee mix before choosing a higher plan. Then put every site, domain and email renewal on one calendar with an owner.
Squarespace costs USD 19 a month for Basic, USD 29 for Core, USD 49 for Plus and USD 99 for Advanced when billed annually. Billed monthly, the same plans cost USD 25, USD 39, USD 65 and USD 139. Prices are per website, and card processing and some transaction fees are extra.
No. Squarespace has no free plan, but it offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. After the trial you need a paid plan to publish the site on a custom domain.
Yes, depending on plan. Basic charges 2% on products, services and donations. Digital content and memberships carry 7% on Basic, 5% on Core, 1% on Plus and 0% on Advanced. Card processing from 2.9% plus USD 0.30 per sale is charged separately.
The main published saving is annual billing, which cuts USD 6 to USD 40 a month per site against monthly prices. Squarespace says annual billing saves up to 36%, though current list prices show about 24% to 29%.
Yes. Core drops from USD 39 to USD 29 a month and Advanced from USD 139 to USD 99 when billed annually. For one Core site that is USD 120 a year saved, and annual plans also include a free custom domain for the first year.
Wix Light costs USD 17 a month billed yearly, and Wix also has a free plan. Webflow Basic costs USD 15 a month per site billed yearly, though it has no CMS. Webflow with a CMS costs USD 25.
