LastPass plans and prices

LastPass sells three business plans with simple per-user prices, but only one way to pay: a year up front. The price you see is also shaped by a hard 50-user limit on Teams and by which identity features sit on which tier.

This guide lays out the plans, the billing rules behind the invoice and the cheaper options security teams compare it against.

Prices below were recorded on 21 September 2026. The headline figure is the lowest price you can get for that plan. Check the official page before you buy, because vendors change prices without notice.

How billing works

All LastPass business plans are billed annually and paid up front. The per-month price is the annual cost divided by twelve, and there is no monthly option. Teams is hard-capped at 50 users, so crossing that line forces a move to Business. Both plans come with a 14-day free trial with no credit card required.

The tier trap

Teams stops at 50 users and has no directory sync. Any company that provisions from Entra ID, Google or Okta, or grows past 50 people, pays 75 percent more per user on Business.

Read this first. LastPass's pricing page renders prices as placeholders, so we could not read a figure there. The Teams price of USD 4 comes from the FAQ on LastPass's Teams vs Business page and a July 2026 guide, while CostBench (July 2026) lists Teams at USD 4.25, so confirm it. Business at USD 7 is confirmed by both third parties. Business Max at USD 9 comes from CostBench only. The JumpCloud a la carte range is as listed on its pricing page.

What a team of 25 really pays

Twenty-five users shows what directory sync and SaaS monitoring each add to the annual prepay.

Where the bill grows

Prepaid annual billing means every seat decision is a year long. These are the rules to watch.

Annual prepay only

Every business plan is paid a year up front, so seats bought for a peak headcount are sunk until renewal.

The 50-user wall on Teams

Teams cannot go past 50 users. Hitting that limit forces the whole account onto Business, not just the new users.

SSO limited to 3 apps on Business

Business includes SSO for only three apps. Anything more means Business Max or a separate identity tool.

Frequent plan restructuring

LastPass reworked its lineup in February 2026, so renewal quotes may map your old plan onto a different tier.

Migration effort if you leave

Moving vaults and shared folders to another password manager takes admin time, which vendors count on at renewal.

Which LastPass plan should you pick?

Teams

Pick it if you have fewer than 50 users and manage accounts by hand.

Business

Pick it if you sync users from Entra ID, Google Workspace or Okta, or need SIEM logs and more policies.

Business Max

Pick it if you also want SaaS monitoring, unlimited SSO apps and advanced MFA from one vendor.

Our view

LastPass Business at USD 7 per user is priced in line with the market and suits companies that want directory sync without an enterprise contract. Teams is cheap but capped at 50 users, and many security teams also get quotes from Bitwarden and 1Password.

You may be overpaying if

You pay for Business Max but use SSO for three apps or fewer, seats bought for last year's headcount sit unassigned, or you never compared Bitwarden's USD 4 Teams plan.

How to pay less for LastPass

  1. Audit seats before the annual prepay

Because you pay a year up front, remove leavers and unassigned licenses before the renewal invoice is raised.

  2. Stay on Teams while you can

Under 50 users with no directory sync, Teams at USD 4 covers shared folders and core policies.

  3. Skip Business Max if SSO lives elsewhere

If Okta, Entra ID or Google already handles SSO, the jump from Business to Max buys little.

  4. Get competing quotes

Bitwarden Teams lists at USD 4 and 1Password Business at USD 8.99 per user per month. Real quotes give you bargaining power.

  5. Use the Families perk

Business includes LastPass Families for employees, which can replace a separate personal password perk.

Price changes we know of

  • February 2026: LastPass restructured its lineup from 4 to 6 pricing tiers across personal and business plans (CostBench).

Keeping LastPass spend under control

A prepaid annual plan turns a small per-seat price into a single large invoice with no mid-term correction. The seat audit has to happen before the invoice is raised, not after.

  • Ask for the security documents up front. Request the security report, the data processing terms and the insurance certificate before you sign. See supplier onboarding.
  • Score the vendor on risk, not only on price. A cheap tool with weak controls costs more after an incident. Use a vendor risk assessment template.
  • Watch the renewal date. Security tools are often bought on multi-year terms. Put the notice date in a renewal tracker.
  • Check the licence metric. Seats, devices and endpoints are counted differently by each vendor. Confirm which one you are paying for.

Bottom line. Teams is enough under 50 users, Business is the right plan once you sync users from a directory, and Business Max makes sense only if you want its SaaS monitoring. Because billing is annual and prepaid, the seat audit has to happen before renewal.

LastPass pricing questions

How much does LastPass cost per user?

Is there a free version of LastPass for business?
