Constant Contact has no free plan, and its headline prices apply only to the smallest lists. The bill depends on your contact count, how often you send, and whether you need the automation and segmentation that live on the higher tiers.
This guide uses the prices on Constant Contact's official pricing page and recent 2026 tier data to show what a typical list really costs.
Prices below were recorded on 12 October 2026. The headline figure is the lowest price you can get for that plan. Check the official page before you buy, because vendors change prices without notice.

How billing works
Your price is set by plan and contact count, and each plan includes a monthly send allowance of 10x your contacts on Lite, 12x on Standard and 24x on Premium. Sends over the allowance are not stopped. They are billed at USD 0.002 each, or USD 2 per 1,000 extra sends. Prepaying for 12 months saves up to 15%, or up to 30% for nonprofits, and new plans carry a 30-day money-back guarantee. SMS, Inbox Preview and other add-ons raise the monthly price.
The tier trap
Lite has one user, one automation template and no scheduling, so any team sending timed campaigns or collaborating moves to Standard, nearly triple the entry price. Custom automations and dynamic content need Premium at USD 80 and up.
Read this first. Entry prices (USD 12, USD 35, USD 80 monthly, USD 10.20, USD 29.75, USD 68 prepaid annually) are from the official pricing page FAQ in USD. The page displayed plan cards in INR from our location and has no public USD tier table, so the 5,000-contact prices (USD 80 Lite, USD 110 Standard, USD 200 Premium) come from SendX's June 2026 table, and other third-party sites disagree at some tiers. Confirm the 5,000-contact prices on a US connection. The terms of service page returned a 403 error, so renewal terms are taken from the pricing page only.
Move the slider to see what each plan costs at your size. The figures use the list prices on this page and leave out tax, add-ons and any discount you negotiate.
Constant Contact prices by contact tier, so this table follows a 5,000-contact list through send overage and a move to Premium.
| Scenario | Cost per year | Against the headline |
|---|---|---|
| Standard billed monthly (5,000 contacts) | USD1,320 | Headline price |
| Standard plus 10,000 sends a month over the allowance at USD 0.002 (5,000 contacts) | USD1,560 | +USD 240 |
| Premium for unlimited users, custom automations and dynamic content (5,000 contacts) | USD2,400 | +USD 1,080 |

Our view
Constant Contact is fair value for small businesses and nonprofits that want live phone support, events and social tools in one place. It is less competitive on automation depth and price per contact once lists grow past a few thousand.
You may be overpaying if
You pay for Premium but never build custom automations, you routinely pay send overage instead of resizing, or your list carries thousands of contacts who have not opened in a year.
Prepaying saves up to 15%, bringing Standard from USD 35 to USD 29.75 a month at the entry tier.
Nonprofits that prepay save up to 30%.
Remove contacts who have not engaged in a year so you stay in a lower bracket.
Track monthly sends, because steady overage at USD 0.002 per email may mean the next plan is cheaper.
Drop SMS or Inbox Preview if nobody used them last quarter.
MailerLite and Mailchimp cost less per contact on many list sizes.

Email lists grow through events, imports and web forms, and the price steps up with every bracket. Nobody owns the list size, so the tier rises unnoticed.
Bottom line. Standard is the right plan for most small businesses, and prepaying for a year is the simplest saving. Clean your list and watch send overage before each renewal.
