ActiveCampaign plans and prices

ActiveCampaign prices on two dials. The plan sets automation depth, segmentation and users, and the contact band sets the bill. Moving from 1,000 to 10,000 contacts multiplies the price several times on every plan.

This guide uses the annual prices on ActiveCampaign's official pricing page for each contact band and flags where add-ons and monthly billing raise the cost.

Prices below were recorded on 12 October 2026. The headline figure is the lowest price you can get for that plan. Check the official page before you buy, because vendors change prices without notice.

How billing works

ActiveCampaign prices each plan by contact band, and the pricing page lists every plan as billed annually. Monthly billing costs more. Subscriptions continue until cancelled, and a cancellation takes effect at the end of the current term. If your list passes a band limit you move to the next band, and with auto-upgrade on, each later renewal is charged at the upgraded fee. Enhanced CRM (Pipelines and Sales Engagement), SMS, WhatsApp and AI Activities are add-ons, and a 30-day money-back guarantee covers new plans.

The tier trap

Starter allows only 5 actions per automation and no landing pages, so real automation needs Plus, more than triple the price at 1,000 contacts. A second or third user forces Pro, since Starter and Plus include one user.

Read this first. Annual prices by contact band were read on the official pricing page, which shows every plan as billed annually only. Monthly prices at 1,000 contacts (USD 19, USD 59, USD 99, USD 179) come from Automation Atlas (verified July 2026), so confirm them in checkout. Add-on prices for Enhanced CRM, SMS, WhatsApp and AI Activities are not published. The Vendr benchmark does not state its number of purchases. The calculator shows only the 1,000 and 5,000 contact bands because those are the bands captured from the page.

A 5,000-contact list shows how much a band edge and the Pro plan add to the bill.

Where the bill grows

An ActiveCampaign bill is plan plus contact band plus add-ons. These are the places it moves.

Steep contact bands

Plus rises from USD 49 a month at 1,000 contacts to USD 145 at 5,000 and USD 189 at 10,000, billed annually.

Tight user limits

Starter and Plus include one user, Pro has 3 and Enterprise 5.

CRM pipelines are an add-on

Pipelines and Sales Engagement are sold as the Enhanced CRM add-on on top of the plan.

SMS and WhatsApp

SMS, WhatsApp lines and prepaid WhatsApp credits are separate purchases, and WhatsApp credits are non-refundable.

Auto-upgrade sticks

With auto-upgrade on, every later renewal is billed at the upgraded fee.

Monthly premium

Paying monthly costs about USD 4 to USD 34 more per month at 1,000 contacts.

Which ActiveCampaign plan should you pick?

Starter

Pick it if one person sends newsletters with simple automations to under 25,000 contacts.

Plus

Pick it if you need unlimited automation actions, landing pages and CRM integrations.

Pro

Pick it if several people manage campaigns and you want predictive sending and attribution.

Enterprise

Pick it if you need SSO, custom objects, 5 users and a dedicated account team.

Our view

ActiveCampaign is strong value for B2B and service businesses that want deep automation without a full marketing cloud. It gets expensive once lists pass 10,000 contacts and the CRM, SMS and WhatsApp add-ons are stacked on.

You may be overpaying if

Half your contacts have not engaged in a year, you pay for Pro but only one person logs in, or you added the CRM add-on while sales already works in another CRM.

How to pay less for ActiveCampaign

  1. Commit annually

At 1,000 contacts, annual billing is USD 15 against about USD 19 monthly on Starter and USD 49 against about USD 59 on Plus.

  2. Prune before the band edge

Remove unengaged contacts before you cross 5,000, 7,500 or 10,000.

  3. Turn off auto-upgrade

Without it, a temporary spike does not lock in a higher renewal fee.

  4. Skip a duplicate CRM

Leave out the Enhanced CRM add-on if sales already uses another CRM.

  5. Use the guarantee

The 30-day money-back guarantee lets you test a plan with real campaigns.

  6. Negotiate with a quote

Bring Mailchimp or Klaviyo pricing to the renewal, since Vendr shows a median contract of USD 13,188 a year.

What other buyers report

Vendr reports a median ActiveCampaign contract of USD 13,188 a year, with buyers paying between USD 10,548 and USD 29,586 (February 2026). Source

Renewal email you can copy

Fill in the brackets and send it about 90 days before the renewal date. It works best next to your renewal tracker.

Keeping ActiveCampaign spend under control

List growth is silent. Contacts pile up from forms and imports, and the first sign is a renewal invoice in a higher band.

  • Count the users who log in. Sales, marketing and revenue operations often buy the same type of tool separately. Compare logins against paid seats before every renewal.
  • Calendar the renewal and notice window. Annual contracts for data and engagement tools often renew at a higher price. A renewal tracker keeps the date visible.
  • Check the data terms before you sign. Contact data brings privacy duties with it. Ask for the data processing terms during supplier onboarding, not after go-live.
  • Add the tool to your software spend view. Use a spend analysis template to see what go-to-market tools cost as a group.

Bottom line. Plus on annual billing suits most marketing teams, with Pro only when extra users or predictive features earn their cost. Clean the list before every band edge and turn off auto-upgrade before renewal.
