Contentful is one of the best-known headless CMS platforms, and its self-serve pricing looks simple: a free plan and Lite at USD 300 a month. The real decision comes when you need a fourth locale, more roles or another space, because the next step is a custom Enterprise contract.

How billing works
Contentful charges a flat platform fee and not a per-seat price on self-serve plans. Lite is USD 300 a month for 20 users, 1M API calls and 100 GB of CDN bandwidth, with 3 locales and 3 roles. The Free plan has hard limits with no overage option, so hitting 100K API calls or 50 GB of bandwidth stops you instead of billing you. Anything beyond Lite's users, locales, roles or spaces means a custom Enterprise contract priced on usage and scope.
The tier trap
Lite stops at 20 users, 3 locales and 3 roles, and there is no plan between USD 300 a month and Enterprise. A fourth language or a second brand can move you straight to a custom contract.
Read this first. The official page lists Lite at USD 300 a month and shows no annual price. Lite record limits and overage fees were not listed. The calculator is flat: Lite is USD 300 a month for up to 20 users, and above that Enterprise applies. Contentful's December fiscal year end is Vendr's claim and was not confirmed with Contentful. Vendr's plan names (Team, Premium) are outdated and are not used.
