Procurement, supplier and AP software in Malaysia
Malaysia is mid-way through its MyInvois rollout. Businesses above RM5 million are already issuing validated e-invoices, and the RM1 million to RM5 million band follows on 1 January 2027. Search data says it all: 'e invoice malaysia' gets about 8,100 searches a month.
The short answer
Malaysian companies buying procurement, purchase order, supplier management or AP software should check MyInvois integration (portal or API), support for self-billed e-invoices on purchases from foreign suppliers and other specified cases, supplier TIN capture, the 72-hour window to reject a received e-invoice, SST handling and a two-way sync with SQL Accounting, AutoCount, Xero, SAP Business One or Dynamics 365.
Four guides for Malaysian finance teams
Malaysians search 'procurement software' about 1,000 times a month and 'po software' about 720. Supplier management searches lean towards 'supplier management system'. Each guide follows the local phrasing.

MyInvois has changed AP in Malaysia faster than any rule in the region. Since August 2024, e-invoices for in-scope businesses must be validated by LHDN through the MyInvois portal or API before they count. Businesses above RM5 million in annual turnover are already in. The RM1 million to RM5 million band was pushed to 1 January 2027, and businesses below RM1 million are exempt.
Buyers have new jobs too. In specified situations, including purchases from foreign suppliers, the buyer issues a self-billed e-invoice instead of waiting for one. And once a supplier's e-invoice is validated, the buyer has 72 hours to request rejection if something is wrong. Both make AP more time-sensitive than it used to be.
Supplier data is the foundation. MyInvois needs the supplier's TIN, registration number and other details to validate. A supplier master full of gaps produces rejected submissions, which is why many Malaysian companies are cleaning supplier data before they buy anything else.

Where Malaysian teams feel it first
Manufacturing and electronics
Large volumes of imported components mean many self-billed e-invoices, plus SST on locally manufactured goods. AP and procurement both feel the load.
Construction and property
Progress billing, many subcontractors and retention sums make PO control and clean supplier TINs a priority under MyInvois.
Retail and F&B groups
Many outlets, many small suppliers and consolidated e-invoices for consumer sales. Central purchasing keeps supplier data consistent.
Shared services in Kuala Lumpur
Regional finance centres serve several countries, so MyInvois sits alongside Singapore InvoiceNow and other regimes in one AP platform.
Buying software in Malaysia: FAQ
Businesses with annual turnover above RM5 million are already in scope. Businesses between RM1 million and RM5 million join on 1 January 2027. Businesses below RM1 million are exempt.
In specified cases, such as purchases from foreign suppliers, the buyer issues the e-invoice and submits it to MyInvois instead of the supplier. AP teams need a process and system for it.
A buyer can request rejection within 72 hours of the supplier's e-invoice being validated by MyInvois.
SQL Accounting and AutoCount are widely used by SMEs. Xero is growing, and mid-market and large companies run SAP Business One, Dynamics 365, SAP S/4HANA and Oracle.
Key details include the supplier's TIN and business registration number, along with other mandatory fields. Missing or wrong data leads to failed validation.
