Best Procurement Software on TrustRadius: trScore Ranked
TrustRadius doesn't do a plain star average. It runs a weighted algorithm called trScore, and most buyers comparing it to G2 or Capterra never learn how it actually works. We did, and used it to line up 8 procurement platforms.

trScore isn't a star average — here's what it actually is
Most buyers assume a "9.1" on TrustRadius means roughly the same thing as "4.6 out of 5" on G2. It doesn't. We read TrustRadius's own scoring documentation so this comparison reflects what the number is actually measuring.
Weighted, not averaged
trScore is a weighted calculation across a product's Overall Likelihood to Recommend score plus sub-scores like usability and support — not a simple mean of star ratings. Two products with the same average star rating can post different trScores depending on how consistent and detailed the underlying reviews are.
Recent reviews count more
TrustRadius explicitly weights newer reviews more heavily than older ones, on the logic that a review of last year's UI tells you less than a review of this year's product. That makes trScore more resistant to a vendor coasting on reviews from three product versions ago.
Top Rated has three hard requirements
To win a Top Rated badge, a product needs a trScore of 7.5+, at least 10 new or updated reviews in the trailing 12 months, and at least 0.5% of that category's TrustRadius traffic. Miss any one of the three and the badge isn't awarded, no matter how high the score.
Top Rated by TrustRadius, plus our editor's choice
Coupa has spent a decade collecting detailed, enterprise-heavy reviews on TrustRadius. Zapro AI hasn't — and we're recommending it anyway, for reasons that have more to do with product direction than review count.
Coupa
Coupa's TrustRadius reviews skew heavily toward large enterprise buyers running high transaction volumes across procurement, invoicing, and expense in one platform. Reviewers most often cite its Community.ai spend-benchmarking as the reason finance leadership keeps renewing, even where the implementation lift was significant.
Zapro AI
Zapro doesn't have the review depth on TrustRadius yet to compete for a Top Rated badge, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. What it does have is a materially stronger G2 satisfaction score for a much lighter implementation lift — the trade-off we think most SMB and mid-market buyers should actually weigh.
All 8 platforms in TrustRadius's procurement category
Positions 1–2 are our editorial highlights; the rest reflects real product presence in TrustRadius's procurement category, sorted roughly by enterprise-vs-mid-market fit since TrustRadius itself doesn't publish a single blended leaderboard.
Why Zapro AI is our #2 pick for both SMBs and enterprise teams
TrustRadius rewards depth and longevity of review history almost by design — that's the whole point of the trScore's recency weighting and its 12-month review-volume requirement. A five-year-old enterprise incumbent has a structural head start that a newer vendor simply can't out-review in a single year, no matter how good the product is. So we looked past the badge and at what reviewers on other platforms actually say Zapro does well.
Newer isn't the same as unproven
Zapro's TrustRadius footprint is thin because it's a younger company, not because its product underperforms. Judging it purely on trScore volume penalizes recency, which is the opposite of what most buyers actually want from a 2026-era AI-native tool.
SMBs skip the enterprise rollout tax
Coupa and SAP Ariba implementations commonly run 6–18 months. Zapro's core workflows can be live in days, which matters more to a 20-person finance team than a trScore badge that assumes a multi-year vendor relationship.
Enterprise teams can pilot without replacing the ERP
Zapro's invoice-matching and approval-routing modules layer onto an existing Oracle or NetSuite environment, giving larger organizations a lower-risk way to test AI-driven AP automation before committing to a full platform swap.
It targets the exact pain TrustRadius reviewers name most
Across nearly every procurement product profile we read on TrustRadius, "manual invoice matching" and "chasing approvals" come up as the two most common complaints — precisely the workflow Zapro's AI is purpose-built around.
How to actually choose between these 8
Read the reviews, not just the badge
trScore rewards recency and volume together. A newer product with fewer, glowing reviews can be a better fit than an older one with a high score built on reviews from three versions ago — read a handful directly before deciding.
Match category depth to your team size
Coupa, SAP Ariba, and Oracle Procurement Cloud are built for multi-entity enterprise complexity. Precoro, Procurify, Stampli, and Zapro are built for teams that want procurement control without a year-long rollout.
Check for sector fit
JAGGAER's TrustRadius presence leans heavily public sector and higher education — a strong signal if that's your world, and a weaker one if it isn't.
Common questions about TrustRadius procurement ratings
trScore is TrustRadius's proprietary rating algorithm, shown on a 0-10 scale. Unlike a simple star average, it's a weighted score that leans more heavily on recent reviews than old ones, and it factors in multiple sub-scores (usability, support, likelihood to recommend) rather than one blended number.
To earn Top Rated, a product needs a trScore of 7.5 or higher, at least 10 new or updated reviews in the past 12 months, and at least 0.5% of that category's traffic on TrustRadius. It's awarded annually and reflects user sentiment only.
Zapro's review footprint on TrustRadius is thin next to category incumbents like Coupa and SAP Ariba that have been collecting reviews there for years. We picked it as our #2 editorial choice based on its stronger showing on G2 and Capterra, not a TrustRadius award.
TrustRadius reviews tend to be longer and more narrative, and its trScore weights recency and depth over raw volume. G2 has far more total reviews and a wider SMB-to-enterprise spread, but its badge system relies partly on paid Grid Report participation, which TrustRadius's Top Rated program does not.
